Welcome To KWS Namibia
Klein Windhoek Schlachterei, also known as KWS, is a family run butchery that was established in 1988 by Herrmann and Birgit Eckwert. It all started with a small retail shop in Gobabis Weg ( Today Sam Nujoma Drive ) employing only 5 people at the time.
Herrmann Eckwert, a German master butcher, established the business in the scene by supplying specialized German products including Sülze, Salami, Leberwurst, Leberkäse, Kassler, Eisbein and many more German delicacies. The retail shop was back in the day famously known in Windhoek for its fresh meatloaf ( Fleischkäse ) which could be collected on Thursday for a delicious lunch as well as Weisswürstchen on Fridays. The Biltong and Droewors are to date considered one of the best in Windhoek.
Throughout the years the butchery grew tremendously and in 1995 transitioned into a wholesale business, located in 13 Albert Wessel Street, with a retail shop front where walk-in customers can purchase fresh & processed meat over the counter. A big variety of meat products including chicken, lamb, pork, beef, game, duck, turkey and more are also supplied to catering companies, lodges, hotels, restaurants and all kinds of retail shops throughout Namibia.
On the 08th April 2018, Klein Windhoek Schlachterei celebrated 30 years in the Namibian meat industry with over 40 employees currently employed. Furthermore, the Eckwert sons Wolfgang and Claus have joined the management of Klein Windhoek Schlachterei to continue the long-lasting family tradition of the business.
